Addiction is serious, but recovery doesn’t have to be heavy-handed.

That’s why this book features the brilliant, insightful, and often hilarious illustrations of Clemmy McWilliam-Le Busque.

Clemmy’s artwork brings these concepts to life, offering visual clarity and a much-needed dose of humor. The goal? To make addiction and recovery principles not just understandable, but memorable.

How It All Started

One day, over coffee, Art asked Clemmy, “Would you draw some illustrations for my book?” Clemmy, thinking this meant one or two, absentmindedly said, “Sure.” Next thing they knew, it was 101 illustrations later.

Between juggling work, school, and life, Clemmy managed to turn deep and often difficult recovery concepts into something engaging, accessible, and (dare we say it?) fun.

So while addiction is no laughing matter, sometimes a well-placed cartoon can help the message stick. And when it comes to understanding recovery, that’s what really matters.

Addiction is a Family Disease offers compassionate and practical ideas to help individuals and families navigate recovery together, stepping into a new chapter, filled with hope, purpose, and growth.
